Dr. Sunil Gupta honoured with “The Outstanding Community Service National Award” 2020
“The Outstanding Community Service Award”, a prestigious National honour was bestowed upon Dr. Sunil Gupta, Director of Sunil’s Diabetes Care n’ Research Centre, Nagpur by Indian Academy of Diabetes, Mumbai at the International Symposium on Diabetes with the hands of Global President of International Diabetes Federation, and Chief Guest, Dr. Andrew Boulton (UK), Guest of Honour Dr. Dilip Mhaisekar, Vice-Chancellor, MUHS in the august presence of, Dr. Prof Sreekumaran Nair, Course Director (Mayo Clinic USA), Dr. Shashank Joshi(Padma Shri Awardee) Chairman, IDF-South-Asia & President of the IAD, Dr. Banshi Saboo, President RSSDI and Prof Dr. AK Das (Pondichery) on 9th January 2021.
Dr. Sunil Gupta is untiringly empowering people with knowledge on diabetes through multiple series of Hello Diabetes Education Programs, for rural & urban Type 1 Diabetes children & their caretakers, people with diabetes, nutritionist, Nurses, various industry workers, Anganwadi workers, professionals of other discipline, Pharmacists, Government & Semi government Officers, NGOs, Banks, and even central jail mates have been benefited.
He is passionately continuing this “Mission Education” since last 26 yrs. As on 31stDec 2020, he has organized and contributed towards 2261 programs 940 Hello Diabetes Education Programs for people including 238 mass education program through AIR/TV, webinars, etc, 942 Continuous Medical Education programs for doctors, 330 Diabetes Screening Camps, 49 Diet Exhibitions i.e. 82 programs/year or 1.67 programs/week. This has directly aided 3, 57,197 Medical Professionals and 1, 65,160 Diabetics and their caretakers. Through his mass education Hello Diabetes campaign, lakhs of rural & urban populations of discrete culture and religion.
He owes this award to his Father Shri. Suraj Prasad Gupta, Mother Mrs. Saroj Gupta, Wife Dr. Kavita Gupta, & Dr. Shlok & Swar (Children) and the team of Sunil’s Diabetes Care & Research Centre (DCRC) & other colleagues who are supporting this mission education of Hello Diabetes for since last 25 years.
